The Salisbury Plain in the county of Wilshire is renowned for its bountiful archeology and lies at the centre of the greatest concentrations of prehistoric monuments in Europe.

Stonehenge, Woodhenge, Durrington, Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet long barrow are part of the UNESCO world heritage landscape and are some of the most impressive sites an inquisitive traveller can experience.
On this private tour you and your entourage will be driven to and walk amongst some of the main Neolithic memorials to early human ingenuity and determination.
With your expert driver-guide you will explore this heavenly landscape and how these sites are connected. We can also examine the timeline, how these megaliths were moved, by whom, their purpose and meaning.

There will also be plenty of time for momentous megalithic photos and a superb lunch in a pub in the English countryside near the ‘fields of gold’.

Itinerary

Meet at your address in London, LHR ,or Southampton cruise ship terminal.
Drive about 2 hours to the village of Avebury.
Walk around, touch, discuss and photograph the stones within the world's largest Neolithic stone circle.
Visit the local museum, shops and pub.
Take a short drive to the nearby ancient and mysterious Silbury Hill, the world's largest prehistoric mound.
Ramble a mile through a field to West Kennet, a Neolithic chambered communal long barrow tomb.
At the Stonehenge visitor centre use the facilities, go to the cafe or shop whilst your guide gathers the entry tickets.
Explore the artefacts with your guide in the Stonehenge museum and exhibition.
Take the 5 minute shuttle or the unforgettable 25 minute mile long walk towards the stones.
Whilst walking around the stone circle talk about why it was built and take some monumental photos.
After about 2 hours at Stonehenge you can go to a lovely pub nearby in the Wilshire countryside.
From here its about 2 hours to London or 1 hour to Southampton.

Nick was great..answered e-mails promptly prior to transfer/tour. Was on time (actually arriving to terminal early in case we got off early). His vehicle was very nice! He was friendly, courteous and was quite knowledgeable about Salisbury Castle and Stonehenge where we visited..as well as pointing out interesting info along the way.
