The quintessentially English village of Salisbury (or new Sarum) flourished around the confluence of rivers, ‘the Pillars of the Earth’ and the Georgian cathedral close.

The medieval cathedral with its dreamy spires is the finest example of English Gothic architecture. It also contains many treasures: the memorials to Saints and knights, the best preserved original version of the Magna Carta, and the oldest mechanical clock.

Before going onto Stonehenge you can also walk along the cobblestone streets of Salisbury and have a pub lunch.

Stonehenge is the most iconic destination an inquisitive traveller can experience and is a must-see place when in England. Along with Salisbury, it is not a place you want to ‘rock up’ to on a crowded tour bus with canned commentary. Instead you will arrive at this monument to early human ingenuity in a private executive vehicle and with your well-informed personal guide. You can also take some momentous photos of this unforgettable day.

From here you will carry onto London, the airport or to your cruise.

Itinerary

Meet and greet port~side of Southampton cruise ship terminal, London airport (LHR or LGW) or your address in London.
Your driver-guide will carefully and securely load any luggage.
Drive about half an hour from Southampton cruise ship terminal through the 'New Forest' to Salisbury. Or 2 hours from London to Stonehenge.
Explore each of Salisbury and Stonehenge for about 2 hours.
From Stonehenge its about 1 hour to LHR, 2 hours to central London or 1 hour to Southampton.
Walk around, discuss, and take photographs
Drive about half an hour to Salisbury where we can have a superb pub lunch and see the Magna Carta inside the cathedral and climb the spires
We can also see the Salisbury museum which contains many prehistoric artefacts or visit Old Sarum nearby.
After our tour we can return to London after a 2 hour drive or onto Southampton
