Windsor and Eton have a jubilant atmosphere. On the edge of London both are surrounded by lush landscapes and are brimming with majestic history. They mark the beginning of the revered ‘English countryside’ and it is a delight to walk in the parks and the Dickensian cobblestone streets. It is also a charming setting to enjoy a roast dinner or “Eton mess’ alongside locals and their hounds by the fireplace .

Here, and within the the Castle itself, you will see where successive monarchs have marked their existence in the terrain, memorials and in the eclectic architecture.

Inside the Castle you will see enter the outer precincts of the ancestral home of the British royal family. In the upper ward you will see the Norman round tower and defences. You will enter the opulent Georgian State Apartments and see some of the artefacts and artworks which are part of the royal collection including paintings, arms, and tapestries.

You will also step into the venerable St George’s chapel and be captivated by the architecture and memorials. This Gothic royal chapel is a masterpiece and the final resting place of many knights and monarchs.

Itinerary

Meet and greet at your address in London (or LHR).
Drive west through many neighbourhoods (including Ted Lasso's !) in London.
Enter the lush and revered 'English countryside' passing by the ancient meeting place in meadow where King John and the barons sealed Magna Carta in 1215.
Continue on driving passing Old Windsor where the Anglo-Saxon kings held court.
Drive alongside Windsor Great Park with the Castle on the horizon.
Drive by or walk along the ceremonial Long Walk towards Windsor.
On your arrival at this charming village have meander along the cobblestone streets whilst your driver-guide parks and expedites your entry to the Castle.
Enter the precincts of the ancestral home of the British royal family.
We will have up to 2 hours to explore the upper and lower wards.
Step inside of the venerable St George's royal chapel (closed on Sundays) and be impressed by the fan vaulting, memorials and artefacts within.
See the final resting place of King Charles III's ancestors including Queen Elizabeth II, her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
Enjoy a pub lunch or supper and have stroll in Eton or the Long Walk if you fancy.
Return to London about an hour away.
This will be a memorable royal experience !

Meeting Points

This tour includes pick-up and drop-off at your address or hotel in London or LHR.

It includes a same-day LHR airport transfer within the duration of the tour if required.

Windsor Castle is a working palace and is closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

St George’s chapel is closed on Sundays.

This tour can be tailored to include other sites such as London, Oxford and/or Stonehenge as well as pick-ups and drop-offs outside of London.

Okay, so we typically don’t take tours, but this one was absolutely AWESOME!!!!! Nick made the trip, he knew how to take care of us, when to talk, when to move us along, when to let us be. We loved his excitement for what he was doing. Thanks for making our best day of our holiday

A terrific tour concept — pick up from the airport, drop off at our airbnb flat, tour central London in between. A perfect introduction to London for first-time visitors. Nick was willing to guide us wherever we wished to go. We wanted to walk through London; perfectly amenable, Nick said sure, let’s walk, and walk we did. We hiked for 6 miles around London, guided ably by Nick. It was a great and informative experience, and introduced is to the flavor of this great city. Highly recommend!
